What Does Your Child Need to prepare for Continuous Learning in an Ever Changing World?
The most exciting breakthrough for preparing your child for their future, has not occurred because of digital technology. It has occurred through educationalists accepting that we need to focus on an expanding concept of how learners need to develop an array of ‘Habits for Learning’. Habits for Learning that will encourage their curiosity to seek understanding and knowledge, along with opportunities to establish skills that will give them the experiences needed to embed the skills required to become ‘Enabled Learners’. Enabled Learners in a world which is becoming more and more saturated by digital connectivity. Digital connectivity that is providing 24/7 access to a world of information and collaborative engagement.
This is an exciting situation, which is providing both teachers and students as learners, the challenge of adapting to new learning strategies.

Strategies designed to ensure learning experiences are building on the natural curiosity, connectedness, creativity and courage of students to find out about their world.
Finding out through not only digital connectivity, but through collaborative and innovative processes to discover the new. To use their natural curiosity as a driver to discover not only what the world is about, but to discover who they are as people within it.
Discovering who they are as a person, will definitely assist them in discovering their potential capacity to learn, and ‘Self Manage’ their growth in becoming ‘Lifelong Learners’.
Our intention at Rotorua Intermediate has always been to continue to ensure student’s progress in the required core curriculum areas. Also crucial is for us to ensure our holistic approach is developing a mindful and morally conscious student. One, who is confident in using our school’s ‘Habits for Learning’ as they discover their new potentials while preparing as young people, resilient enough to succeed in their ever changing world, and contribute in a constructive manner.
We are confident in the strong foundation we are providing at Rotorua Intermediate as we develop ‘Enabled Learners’. You can trust our ‘Courage and Commitment’.
